FreeBSD and DVD ripping

First you have Aeonflux's Guide to DVD ripping under FreeBSD. Next there is dvdrip from the ports collection. My favorite is ripmake, which is "a fully automatic command line ripping makefile generator for transcode". Examples for ripmake:
ripmake -C 800 file.avi vcd convert file.avi into files ready for burning to cd's. Assume a cd size of 800MB.
Other options for ripmake are:
-n pal convert output to PAL format
-f af6 force input video codec to be af6 (avifile). Other codecs are ffmpeg, mov (quicktime), divx, xvid and mplayer. Useful if for some reason ripmake fails to detect the proper input codecs.

Then there is the DVD players: resources article from Linux Journal. And that's about it.
