ProjectsJeg tester KnoppMyth R5A16 for å se om den er brukandes. Ressurser: MythTV, MythTV Wiki, KnoppMythWiki, Debian, LinuxTV.org, V4L Wiki, Clever Tricks with MythTV, The PVR Guide,
Hardware:
  • CPU: intel Celeron @ 400 Mhz
  • Memory: 256 MB PC100 (1 DIMM, 1 ledig plass)
    • var: 128 MB RAM (2 DIMMer, ingen ledige plasser)
  • disk: nok
  • lydkort: Creative Soundblaster Vibra16C (isa) PnP
  • skjermkort: nVidia GeForce2 MX / MX400 (NV11)
  • TV kort: Hauppauge PVR-500MCE (hardware MPEG encoder)
    • var: Hauppauge WinTV PCI-FM (model 747)
Aktiviteter:
  • install KnoppMyth - ok
  • WinTV PCI-FM: configure TV card - still problems with the cx88 driver and my TV card (Hauppauge WinTV PCI-FM model 747).
  • PVR-500: card needs a newer version of ivtv (the driver). Downloaded, configured and installed. Works
  • set up sound card - ok
  • enable ntp - ok
  • configure MythTV
    • the PVR-500 needs to be set up as a MPEG-2 card (aka PVR-250 / PVR-350 in MythTV)
    • XvMC hardware decoding had to be turned off to enable playback
  • secure Mythweb - ok
Tester:
  • test: kan man se TV?
    • WinTV PCI-FM: test av TV med xawtv - testet, farger er feil (blåskjær)
    • PVR-500: test av TV med ptune-ui.pl og mplayer /dev/video0 - bilde og lyd ok, det går an å bytte kanaler.
  • test av "Live TV"
    • WinTV PCI-FM: - testet, maskinen er ikke rask nok
    • PVR-500:
  • test av opptak (recording)
    • WinTV PCI-FM: test av opptak - testet - virker
    • PVR-500: test av opptak - testet - virker.
Mer testing gjenstår.

Automatic Multimedia Installation Configuration Utility System (A.M.I.C.U.S.): the purpose of the A.M.I.C.U.S. project is to help users quickly and easily install and configure MythTV on generic PC hardware. It is an installation and configuration script based on publicly available information in MythTV on Debian guides (see references and links section).

Etter nesten et år, så har jeg oppgradert KnoppMyth'en, se KnoppMyth - upgrade from R5A16 to R5C7 på geekinfo.net.
